Using placeholders in your messages

Fill in names, references and details automatically.

A placeholder is a marker in your message that Nkaebo replaces with a real value. You write it between double curly braces, like this: {{customer name}}.

Two kinds of placeholder

  • Built-in: Nkaebo fills these in by itself, such as the customer name, job reference and your business name.
  • Your own: you invent them, such as courier name. When a job reaches the stage, Nkaebo asks you to type the value.

Required or optional

A required placeholder must have a value before the message can be sent. For an optional one, you give a fallback text, such as our delivery team, which is used when it is left empty.

Always check the live preview. It shows the real message with real values before anything is sent.
